Who we are

Alister is a creative agency that believes in making it big in the little leagues. We help entrepreneurs, small businesses and startups launch and grow their brand through web development, video production and ads.

 As a graphic designer, you will be responsible for bringing our client's ideas to life through visually stunning designs. You will work closely with our creative team to develop concepts, designs and layouts for a variety of print and digital materials.

The ideal candidate will have a strong portfolio showcasing their ability to create visually stunning designs that tell a story. You should be proficient in Adobe Creative Suite and have experience working with a variety of design styles. You should also be able to think outside the box and come up with new and innovative design solutions.

We are looking for someone who is passionate about design, has a great attitude and is always eager to learn and grow. If you are a creative problem-solver who thrives in a flexible environment, we want you on our team!

 Minimal direct client contact will be required, but an openness to interacting with clients when needed is appreciated and considered an asset. 

This is an hourly contractor/freelance position, all work shall be conducted remotely. 

Ideally you:

  • Have 2-3 years of experience designing in multiple design types
  • Are proficient in Adobe CC (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign)
  • Have completed all aspects of print design in the past (from design to final print)
  • Have a strong understanding of design best practices
  • Have solid design skills  
  • Are able to design based on client briefs and feedback
  • Experience working with other freelancers
  • Have a basic understanding of Notion for project management
  • Have a holistic approach to design, from high-level strategy to small design details
  • Have a portfolio of past projects including designs and completed sites
  • Are currently ready and able to work in Canada

Nice to haves:

  • Social media management experience 
  • Knowledge of social media platforms and trends
  • Ability to understand and speak French
  • Experience preparing design files for motion design
  • Email marketing design experience

What you’ll be doing:

  • Designing social media content for a variety of clients and platforms 
  • Creating marketing collateral for print
  • Creating and designing assets for the agency site and social media
  • Updating existing client content and assets 
  • Proposing new ideas and design strategies
  • Designing assets based on brand guidelines and stylescapes

What you’ll get:

  • $25 - $30 per hour (based on experience) minimum of 10-15 hours per week.
  • We’ll reimburse a subscription of your choice (up to $300/annually)
  • Ex: gym membership, creative cloud, healthcare plan/insurance
  • $300 for courses, training or professional development of your choice
  • Make your own hours (available for team meetings 1-2 times per week during standard business hours)
